Job Description

About you
You are a Senior Full Stack Developer who enjoys building scalable, reliable, and high-performing applications across modern frontend and cloud-native backend environments. You bring a strong engineering mindset and enjoy working with TypeScript across the entire stack, from creating intuitive user experiences to developing serverless services and designing efficient data models.

You are comfortable working within established architectures, following engineering standards, and taking ownership of the solutions you deliver. You value clean, maintainable code, automated testing, and secure development practices. You thrive in collaborative environments, adapt quickly to evolving technical challenges, and approach troubleshooting and continuous improvement with autonomy and accountability.

You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong professional experience in Full Stack Development, delivering production-grade applications across frontend and backend environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript, including hands-on experience with Node.js.
  • Strong experience developing modern web applications using React, preferably React 19, and libraries such as TanStack Router, TanStack Query, Mantine, or Zustand.
  • Proven experience developing serverless applications on AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
  • Strong knowledge of NoSQL data modeling, particularly DynamoDB Single-Table Design and access-pattern optimization.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs using OpenAPI specifications and Zod for schema validation.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and understanding of AWS IAM concepts.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and code quality tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines, SonarCloud, and ESLint.
  • Experience developing unit tests using Vitest and supporting automated API and end-to-end testing with tools such as Playwright and Postman.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, including PII and PCI security requirements.
  • Experience working with Spec-Driven Development methodologies and tools such as Kiro.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills, with ownership of application deployment, reliability, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work autonomously within established architectural patterns, technical standards, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute effectively within Agile development teams.
  • Fluent English proficiency, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with SQL Server, particularly in data synchronization or integration environments.
  • Experience with OpenSearch Serverless.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures using Amazon EventBridge.
  • AWS certifications at the Associate level or higher.

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain production-quality full-stack applications using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Build modern frontend features using React 19 and supporting libraries such as TanStack Router, TanStack Query, Mantine, and Zustand.
  • Develop and maintain AWS serverless backend services using Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
  • Design and optimize DynamoDB data models using Single-Table Design and application access patterns.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and validate inputs and outputs using OpenAPI-driven Zod schemas.
  • Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK while following established deployment and security practices.
  • Develop automated unit tests using Vitest and support API and end-to-end testing activities following established QA patterns.
  • Apply secure coding practices to protect sensitive personal and payment information.
  • Take ownership of application deployments, production troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, QA, and Product teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Follow established architecture decisions, coding standards, CI/CD workflows, and code quality practices.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in application performance, maintainability, and engineering practices.
