As a Senior Full Stack Application Engineer at CI&T, you will design and build intuitive, data-driven business applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js and AWS, with a strong focus on frontend engineering, UX/UI and data visualisation.

You will work closely with Business, Product, Architects and Data Engineers to translate complex business processes, calculations and simulations into interactive user experiences, integrating with enterprise systems, data platforms and AI/ML services.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong frontend expertise, solid backend capabilities, product thinking and ownership from discovery through production, leveraging AI-assisted development practices throughout.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build intuitive, responsive and data-driven user interfaces using React and TypeScript, with a strong focus on UX/UI, usability and data visualisation.

• Translate complex business processes, calculations, simulations and scenario modelling into interactive application features.

• Develop secure APIs and backend services using Node.js and AWS, integrating with enterprise systems, data platforms such as Databricks and AI/ML services.

• Build technical prototypes to validate feasibility, explore solutions and support technical decisions.

• Own engineering quality, including automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD and production deployments.

• Work in an Agile, product-led environment, delivering working software incrementally based on business priorities.

• Collaborate closely with Business, Product, Design, Architects and Data Engineers to understand requirements, validate solutions and make informed technical decisions.

• Take ownership of delivery, working autonomously while proactively communicating progress, risks and dependencies.

• Demonstrate working software regularly, gather feedback and continuously improve the user experience.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools throughout the software delivery lifecycle while maintaining engineering quality and accountability.

• Maintain practical technical documentation to support maintainability and handover.

Required skills and experience

• Experience:  software development experience, with strong hands-on experience delivering production web applications.

• Frontend: Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript and modern UI frameworks, building responsive, accessible and data-intensive applications.

• UX/UI: Experience translating complex business requirements into intuitive user interfaces, including interactive forms, data visualisation, calculations and scenario modelling.

• Backend: Solid experience with Node.js, REST APIs, business logic implementation and integration with external services.

• Cloud: Practical experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM and CloudWatch, including infrastructure as code.

• Data Integration: Strong SQL skills and experience integrating applications with enterprise systems, APIs and modern data platforms such as Databricks.

• Engineering Practices: Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, Git based workflows, security and production deployments.

• Business Collaboration: Experience working directly with business stakeholders, Product and Architects to clarify requirements, evaluate technical options and deliver solutions.

• AI-Assisted Development: Practical experience using AI coding assistants and development tools while maintaining code quality and accountability.

• Communication: Advanced English communication skills and the ability to work independently within cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Domain Knowledge: Experience in retail, supply chain, manufacturing or other data-intensive industries.

• Business Modernisation: Experience replacing legacy applications, spreadsheets and manual workflows with modern web applications.
