The role in one paragraph

Our client has a matchmaking product. It connects candidates with live roles, and it needs a steady flow of well-qualified software engineers to do that well. This role runs the screening calls that create that flow. Wave gives you the candidates, the booked calls, the script and the tools. Your job is to work through

them at pace, have a proper conversation with each engineer, and capture everything our matchmaking needs. You will not be sourcing or searching LinkedIn. Every candidate you speak to has been selected by us, so your focus is the quality and volume of your calls.

What you own

Screening calls

Run pre-booked screening calls with software engineers based in London and across the UK

Follow the client script: open with who we are and what we offer, cover the key questions, and close with clear next steps

Capture what each candidate wants: salary and package, hybrid setup and days in the office, tech stack, roles of interest and their key drivers for a move

Probe the CV where needed, including gaps, short stints and reasons for moving from contract to perm

Introduce the week's priority roles using the short pitches agreed at the Monday kickoff

Notes and candidate data

Use Granola on every call and run our recipe at the end to check nothing is missing

Save notes to the right place straight after each call, with an up to date CV,

LinkedIn or GitHub

Confirm each candidate's intent: joining our platform, a specific

role, or both

Outbound calling

Between booked calls, work through the call list we provide using Dialpad and book in further screening calls

Re-engage candidates from our historic database, collect updated CVs and refresh their records

Pick up useful market information on calls, such as where else candidates are interviewing, and log it for the team

Skills and behaviours

Strong spoken and written English, and confident on the phone with people you have not met before

Comfortable making a high volume of calls every day and following a set process

Moves at a fast pace without dropping quality

Good judgement on a CV: spots gaps, job hopping and anything that needs a follow-up question

Strong work ethic, reliable and self-managing while working remotely

Comfortable with AI tools and new systems, including Granola, Dialpad, Slack, Gmail and Notion

Coachable: takes feedback and applies it quickly

How you will be supported

Training on the script and the Granola recipe in your first week

You will shadow calls

A Monday kickoff each week covering the priority roles and how to pitch them

Regular check-ins on call quality and output

How we will measure success

20 to 30 screened candidates passed into our platform each week

Complete notes on every call, with nothing flagged as missing by the recipe

The call list is worked through daily, with new screening calls booked between screens

Historic candidates are refreshed with current CVs and records

Call quality that represents us well, based on regular review

Requirements

Who we are looking for

Experience

1 to 2 years in recruitment, resourcing, delivery, sales development or another outbound calling role

Technology recruitment experience is ideal but not essential. The script covers the technical questions

Experience working with UK candidates or companies is a plus
