About the role

About Foundation

Foundation helps B2B tech and SaaS brands get found, cited and recommended when their buyers ask AI for solutions. We do it through Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): the research, content, distribution and optimization that build a brand's presence across LLMs, search, Reddit, YouTube and the sources they draw on.

Mission of the Role

You own the quality bar for everything creative Foundation delivers: written content, design, video, and social and ad creative. You make sure the work clients get is clear, distinctive and built to be found and cited, and that every pod holds it to the same standard. Your job is making the work better and keeping it that way as we grow.

You work across all of our client teams. Each team is led by a Group AEO Marketing Director who owns a book of clients, with an AEO Program Director who runs delivery. Our writers, designers, editors and producers sit in those pods. The Head of Paid Media, the Head of Organic & AI Visibility and their leads set the standard for their channels. You hold the creative bar across all of them.

Reports to: Head of Client Services. Direct reports: creative makers not yet placed in pods. Dotted line: the writers, designers, editors and producers in every pod and through our freelance partners.

What you'll own:

  • The quality gate. You design the creative quality check every piece goes through before it reaches a client: the criteria, the checklists, and who runs it in each pod. Pods run the check day to day. You review a sample of work each week, handle escalations, and personally review high-stakes work, such as a new client’s first deliverables. Work that isn’t ready goes back with feedback the maker can act on.
  • The creative standard. You set and document what great looks like at Foundation: guidelines, examples, storytelling and brand frameworks, and the checklists the gate uses.
  • Your team. You manage and develop the creative makers who aren't yet placed in pods. The resource manager staffs them across pods. When each pod can keep one busy, they move into pods and stay on your dotted line.
  • Creative hiring. You run the technical skill assessment part of every creative hire and have a veto on creative quality.
  • Creative levelling. You define what each level of writer, designer, editor and producer looks like, and give input on their promotions.
  • Coaching. You give the people who make the work regular, specific feedback, train them, and close skills gaps across pods.
  • AI in the creative workflow. You build and roll out AI tools and workflows that raise quality and speed, and make sure AI-assisted work still meets the bar.
  • Partners and freelancers. You make sure third-party creators and editors meet the same standard as our own team.

What you bring:

  • 8+ years in creative leadership for B2B brands, in an agency or in-house, with a portfolio across writing, design and video.
  • You've built a quality system before: standards, review gates and feedback loops that held up as volume grew.
  • You make the call. You hold the bar under deadline pressure and say no when work isn't ready, without needing someone more senior to back you.
  • You've already built things with AI: agents, tools or workflows you use in real creative work, and you can show us how you built them. Hands-on time with tools like Claude, Figma, Higgsfield, HeyGen or ElevenLabs counts. If you haven't built with AI yet, this role isn't the right fit right now.
  • Experience teaching others: you've made writers, designers and editors better, including people who don't report to you.
  • A clear point of view on what makes content get found and cited by AI assistants, and how that changes the creative brief.
