Australian Tax Accountant

Role OverviewEstablished in 1999, the firm has a team of experienced professionals. It provides a comprehensive range of accounting, taxation, and business advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses, investors, and self-managed super funds (SMSFs).With a strong track record of steady growth and low staff turnover, the practice offers a stable and supportive working environment. Due to continued business growth, the firm is seeking experienced Tax Accountants to join its growing team.This is an excellent opportunity for qualified and experienced professionals to become part of an established accounting practice and contribute to its continued success. Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to work with 4 experienced partners with over 30 years of accounting experience.

• Prepare and/or review financial statements, tax returns, ad hoc financial reports, as well as budgeting and forecasting for individuals, corporates, partnerships, trusts and SMSFs
• Preparation of BAS and quarterly reports
• Research and preparation of business and tax advice on transactions, investments and other business activities
• Conduct tax planning and research to identify tax-efficient strategies for clients.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience within an Australian Tax Accounting firm or public practice accounting firm
• Experience in Xero software is required
• Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA/IPA (is a plus) or equivalent certification is preferred, or candidates who are currently completing CPA/IPA certification will be considered
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; BGL experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Desire to continuously learn and develop

Work Environment & ExpectationsWhile this is a work-from-home position, it is important to note that this is a full-time role—not a freelance or flexible-hour arrangement. You will be expected to work a fixed shift and maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability, just as you would in an office environment.✅ This role requires:

• Discipline and commitment to set working hours (strict shift times, not flexible)
• Use of time tracking software during work hours
• Active participation in team and client calls with your camera ON
• Consistent availability and responsiveness throughout your shift
• Treating this as a long-term, full-time job—not a side gig or freelance task

Benefits

1. Monthly Salary: Php 90,000
2. Salary will be paid on a bi-monthly basis on the 15th and 30th or 31st of each month
3. You will be paid extra for overtime and Philippines public holidays
4. Probation: 6 months and after Probation
   - 10 days annual leave credits
   - 5 days of sick leave
5. HMO offered after 6-month's probation
6. Eligible for 13th Month Pay after 30 days
7. Annual Salary Review
8. Laptop provided after 30 days
9. Permanent work-from-home role. You will have to use your own internet.
10. SHIFT TIMES: 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM Philippine time, Monday to Friday
