About the role

About Namecheap

Namecheap is in the business of opening doors to online success. We make it easy for anyone to build a winning web presence, with simple domain registration, affordable hosting, trusted security and privacy products, and an award-winning customer service team available 24/7. As proud advocates for online privacy and net neutrality, we put clients first, which is why we’re one of the web’s largest registrars, with millions of happy customers and over 32 million domains under management (and counting).

As a true technology company with a global focus, we inspire and enable innovators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses to build, grow, and succeed through exceptional products and extraordinary experiences.

Our North Star is clear: to be the most loved brand for creators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses, where value meets experience.

The Product Team

Led by our Chief Product Officer, Zeeshan Qamruddin,  the Product team drives our company’s product strategy and brings together all business functions around it. This includes Technology, Growth/Marketing, Design, User Experience, Operations & Customer Support, and Cloud.

About The Challenge

As we enter an ambitious new stage of growth, we’re sharpening our product positioning, simplifying customer journeys, and expanding into adjacent opportunities globally. To help lead this next chapter, we’re looking for a VP of Apps & Tools, reporting directly to the CPO.

In a nutshell, you’ll lead multiple product leaders to shape our high-margin value-added services portfolio into an AI-forward, integrated suite, one of the company’s key growth engines and a driver of long-term value. You will own a portfolio spanning Email, SSL, VPN, CDN, security tools, marketing tools, SEO, and related add-ons, defining a cohesive strategy, deciding where to invest, partner, evolve, or retire, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the portfolio operates as an integrated ecosystem.

Why Join Us?

  • A rare mandate. Decide what to build, reinvent, partner on, or retire across a diverse portfolio, with direct access to our CPO and the backing to act.

  • Room to create. Spot new opportunities through an agentic lens and shape the next generation of tools for businesses that are starting and growing.

  • Test ideas at real scale. Validate and launch new offerings with a base of millions of customers worldwide.

  • Variety that keeps you sharp. From email and security to marketing tools, no two days look the same, making this ideal for leaders who thrive across product types.

What You’ll Lead and Accelerate

Portfolio Strategy & Positioning

  • Own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for the Apps & Tools portfolio, continuously deciding where to invest, improve, partner, deprioritize, or sunset.

  • Get hands-on with each product to understand its real performance, customer value and potential before making portfolio calls.

  • Lead sunset and transition decisions with care, moving customers to the right solutions and re-engaging affected teams around new priorities.

  • Ensure coherent segmentation, positioning, packaging, and pricing across proprietary and third-party offerings, partnering with Growth to drive ARPU, retention, and expansion.

  • Ensure products integrate seamlessly across the platform, and drive cross-sell and bundling strategies that increase ecosystem stickiness.

  • Build integrated roadmaps with adjacent verticals such as Web Presence and Domains (e.g., connecting SEO and marketing tools with our Alf Website Builder).

Partnership Management

  • Identify portfolio gaps and define build vs. partner vs. acquire strategies.

  • Structure strategic partnerships with leading technology providers (e.g., email and productivity platforms) aligned with long-term platform objectives.

  • Own partner performance and ensure third-party integrations deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience.

AI-Forward Product Direction

  • Define how AI reshapes the Apps & Tools portfolio, embedding AI-driven capabilities across email, security, marketing, and SEO tools to deliver smarter, simpler experiences for customers.

  • Use AI, automation, and an agentic lens to guide portfolio decisions, identifying where AI can strengthen existing products, unlock new offerings, or replace legacy solutions.

  • Ensure AI capabilities connect across the broader platform, complementing the AI-native direction of Web Presence products.

 Leadership

  • Lead the product teams across the portfolio through their respective leaders, driving clear accountability and performance.

  • Align Product, Engineering, Marketing, CX, and Finance around unified portfolio priorities and measurable outcomes.

  • Establish a disciplined operating model that simplifies and scales execution.

 Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor competitive landscape and emerging technology trends.

  • Translate market insights into actionable portfolio decisions.

  • Position the portfolio to strengthen long-term differentiation and defensibility.

What You’ll Bring

  • Breadth of experience across different companies, product types and business models, combined with creativity in spotting new opportunities

  • Strategic, structured leader with experience owning and scaling multi-product portfolios, whether in domains and hosting or in broader technology, SaaS, or commerce platforms.

  • Experience taking products through full lifecycles multiple times, from assessment and launch through pivots and, where needed, sunsetting, with first-hand learning from what didn’t work as well as what did.

  • A track record of bringing AI-powered products or features to market and scaling their adoption.

  • Success in defining and executing portfolio strategy across core products, partnerships, and new growth initiatives.

  • Strong commercial acumen with deep expertise in subscription economics, segmentation, and lifecycle performance.

  • Experience leading senior cross-functional organizations through significant portfolio change, making difficult product decisions and keeping teams engaged and aligned through them.

  • Leads with candor and integrity: comfortable challenging the status quo and committed to doing the right things in the right way.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable revenue and margin impact in product-led technology or platform businesses (ideally serving SMB or commerce segments).
