About the role
The Strategic Account Manager owns Carda's most important client relationships after the contract is signed. You will be the executive-facing lead for a portfolio of Health Plans and will be responsible for proving Carda's value, delivering against contract expectations, and growing each relationship.
You will turn Carda's data into a clear value story: running analysis on internal databases, sharing aggregate outcomes with client executives, and working across Clinical, Operations, Product, and Finance to make sure every partner sees measurable impact. You will partner with senior leadership to launch new initiatives, expand existing contracts, and maximize revenue across your book.
Reports to: Head of Enterprise Sales
Portfolio: Health Plans
Location: Remote, with travel to client sites
What you'll do
Own and Manage Health Plan Partners
- Serve as Carda's day-to-day executive lead for National Health Plan Partners across clinical, network, care management, and Stars stakeholders
- Run the operating rhythm: monthly performance reviews, quarterly business reviews, and an annual value summary
- Track referral and enrollment volume, conversion, engagement, and completion against contract expectations; flag and fix gaps before Humana does
- Identify and build the case for expansion: new markets, new member populations and new product lines
- Expand Carda’s offering within Health Plan clients through various ways including: Regional expansion, upsell of additional product lines (ICR) and more.
- Use existing relationships with Health Plans to identify new opportunities for Carda to support the client’s primary goals (e.g. cost reduction, care quality improvement, engagement, STARS measures impact)
Lead executive relationships across the book
- Build multi-threaded relationships with executive sponsors (CMO, VP Population Health, Network, P&L Owner, etc)
- Serve as the Primary point of contact for Health Plans across the company and communicate strategy and execution ideas back to Sr Leadership
- Leverage client feedback to spearhead internal initiatives, stack rank priorities and be the voice of the Payer Vertical within Carda
- Lead QBRs and executive check-ins that center on performance
- Act as the single point of accountability for partner escalations, coordinating resolution across teams
Turn data into a value story
- Query internal databases and reporting tools to pull aggregate outcomes (enrollment, completion, functional capacity, readmissions, patient experience)
- Build ROI and impact narratives tailored to each partner type: total cost of care and Star Ratings for plans; capacity, access, and readmissions for health systems
- Partner with Clinical and Analytics to produce publishable case studies and reference stories
Grow revenue
- Drive expansion revenue across the book: new sites, service lines, populations, and initiatives
- Work with the Head of Enterprise Sales and Enterprise team on handoff, account planning, and joint expansion pursuits
- Lead renewal strategy and pricing conversations with Finance
Coordinate cross-functionally
- Bring the voice of the partner to Clinical, Operations, Product, and Finance; translate partner needs into prioritized requests
- Coordinate implementation of new initiatives (data feeds, SFTP/referral workflows, reporting changes) with Product and Ops
Manage contracts and performance
- Maintain a performance scorecard for every partner against contracted terms and SLAs
- Prepare renewals 6–9 months ahead with a documented value summary
- Keep Salesforce account records, health scores, and renewal dates current
What you bring
Required
- 3+ years in customer success, account management, or client partnerships, with 2+ years managing enterprise level accounts
- Ability to plan, deliver and report back to Sr. Leadership with very little to no assistance
- Direct experience managing a health plan relationship (Medicare Advantage)
- Comfort pulling and analyzing data yourself and turning it into executive-ready narratives
- Familiarity with reporting tech stack (Salesforce, Google Docs, Canva, Sage)
- Track record of owning renewals and driving measurable expansion revenue
- Ability to move quickly and demonstrated experience of completing projects must faster than peers while ensuring quality of work remains best in class
- Cross functional collaboration with Sales on identifying opportunities and creating expansion plans within each client
- Executive presence: you have led a QBR with a plan CMO or health system CFO and hold the room with other executives
- Working knowledge of Star Ratings, HEDIS, total cost of care, and MA care management
- Analytical with a proven track record of obtaining information, diagnosing and identifying business opportunities in a quick and efficient manner
Preferred
- Experience in digital health, value-based care, or a cardiology/chronic condition program
- Experience working with Major National Health Plans
