About the role
We’re looking for a high-performing Senior Account Executive with deep sports industry experience and an established network across professional and collegiate athletics to drive net-new business growth in Conversica’s Sports & Entertainment vertical.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in sales, business development, or revenue generation within the sports industry, understands the unique challenges facing sports organizations, and can leverage existing relationships to build pipeline and close strategic deals across U.S. and international markets.
If you're passionate about helping sports organizations innovate through AI and have the industry experience, relationships, and competitive drive to make an immediate impact, we want to meet you.
This is a U.S.-based, remote role, with occasional travel expected for customer meetings and key industry events.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end sales process with a focus on new business acquisition in the sports vertical.
- Prospect into professional sports leagues, teams, colleges, and sports technology organizations to build pipeline and close deals.
- Manage deals averaging $75K+ in ARR, with sales cycles typically 2–3 months.
- Target accounts aligned with enterprise quota expectations of $1.2M annually.
- Deliver accurate forecasting and maintain high-quality CRM hygiene.
- Engage stakeholders at multiple levels, including executive decision-makers and business/technical users.
- Partner cross-functionally with SDRs, Marketing, and Sales Leadership to drive vertical strategy.
- Stay current on industry trends, evolving customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Travel as needed for customer meetings, key industry events, or team collaboration.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of sales experience with a strong track record of new business acquisition in mid-market and/or enterprise accounts.
- Experience working in or selling to sports or entertainment clients is strongly preferred.
- Strong network in major league or collegiate athletics a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multi-threaded, complex sales cycles from prospect to close.
- Experience navigating $1M+ annual quota environments.
- Adept with tools like Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with comfort engaging C-level stakeholders.
- Self-starter with a competitive edge, high integrity, and a passion for winning.
- Background in ticketing technology, fan engagement, sponsorship, or related areas of sports business a plus.
- Bonus: Previous leadership or people management experience, particularly within sports sales, service, or business development.
