About the role

DeterTech's purpose is giving greater peace of mind to people and communities, every day, and that depends on data flowing reliably between the systems that run our business. This role adds dedicated integration capability and resilience to the MuleSoft side of the Salesforce & Integration team, supporting integrations and workflows across DeterTech's core business systems. You will build and support the API connections and event flows linking Salesforce Service Cloud and Field Service, our Alarm Receiving Centre software and manufacturing and finance platforms. Working as a trusted technical partner alongside the Integration Lead, you will share operational ownership of our integration pipelines—eliminating single points of failure and ensuring business-critical data flows continue running smoothly during project surges and periods of annual leave.
ABOUT DETERTECHDeterTech is a security technology company operating across six countries, with principal UK sites in Prestwick and Telford. We predict, deter and detect risk on behalf of the people and communities we serve. Our values – Committed, Inclusive and Ambitious – shape how we work every day: we are accountable and deliver excellence; we collaborate and build trust; and we never stop learning while winning in the right way.

This is a remote role, with the flexibility to work from home. We also value face-to-face collaboration and would ask for some flexibility to attend occasional in-person meetings or team sessions.

2. Collaboration• Complement, rather than duplicate, existing MuleSoft expertise within the team.• Work closely with Salesforce and wider IT colleagues on cross-system solutions.• Partner closely with the Integration Lead to cross-skill across all live MuleSoft interfaces and flows, establishing shared operational coverage and smooth handover routines so critical systems remain fully supported when either specialist is on leave or working on dedicated initiatives.• Partner with the ARC Development teams to align API payload contracts, authentication standards, and data sync frequencies between custom Laravel applications and the MuleSoft layer.• Collaborate closely with the QA / Test Analyst, providing API collections, mock endpoints, and sample payloads to support thorough integration testing.• Work with the Technical Delivery Manager during sprint planning to highlight technical dependencies, interface risks, and realistic delivery estimates.
3. Support and documentation• Provide technical input and support for ongoing integration delivery and maintenance.• Contribute to documentation of integration architecture and standards.• Act as a reliable, hands-on escalation point for production integration incidents, triage errors across queues and APIs.• Monitor API runtime health, error queues, and throughput using MuleSoft Monitoring, proactively diagnosing bottlenecks and integration exceptions.• Maintain clear, up-to-date integration flow diagrams, field mapping sheets, and operational support runbooks to aid quick troubleshooting and incident resolution.• Adhere to strict data security, encryption, and GDPR standards, ensuring sensitive customer is handled securely across all interfaces.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential• Solid MuleSoft/API/integration development experience.• Experience integrating cloud business systems (for example Salesforce, ERP or finance systems).• Understanding of integration architecture, standards and best practice.• Able to work collaboratively within an existing integration team without duplicating effort.• Hands-on development experience across the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Anypoint Studio, DataWeave 2.0, Flow Designer, and Runtime Manager).• Proven track record building RESTful APIs and event-driven data flows connecting CRM (Salesforce) with back-office platforms (such as Finance systems).• Comfortable and confident providing independent operational cover for live integrations, troubleshooting runtime exceptions and database/API synchronisation issues.• Practical understanding of API security protocols, including OAuth2, API key management, SSL/TLS, and basic auth.• Comfortable debugging integration payload mismatches, transformation exceptions, and network/timeout errors across distributed systems.• Clear verbal and written communication skills, able to walk through interface specifications with both technical developers and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable• MuleSoft certification (for example Anypoint Platform Developer).• Experience integrating manufacturing, IoT or telemetry systems.• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, with an appreciation of ETL and direct database integration pipelines.• Familiarity with message broker and queue technologies.• Experience working in an Agile delivery team alongside a Technical Delivery Manager and dedicated QA / Test Analyst.• Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines for integration runtimes (e.g.Copado, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions).
