About the role

Your Impact

The Litigation Engineer bridges legal litigation practice and AI product strategy. Acting as a forward-deployed subject matter expert, they embed directly with litigators at law firms to configure, validate, and optimize the DISCO Unified Litigation Solution. They drive core product adoption, and translate field observations into scalable software and go-to-market playbooks.

What You'll Do

  • Embedded Litigation Support: Embeds directly with litigation teams at law firms via hands-on working sessions to diagnose case needs, configure system capabilities, and map evidence to causes of action on live legal matters.
  • Product-Customer Liaison: Serves as the core bridge between customer users and internal product/engineering teams; reports real-world usage insights, prioritizes feature requests, and informs product roadmap directions.
  • Playbook & Enablement Development: Codifies hands-on customization into reusable workflow templates, prompt patterns, practice-area playbooks, and enablement materials for broader account team usage.
  • Strategic Deal & Expansion Support: Partners with executive leadership and sales teams as the technical and domain expert on early-stage deals, firm expansion efforts, and multi-practice group adoption.
  • Custom Solution Design: Collaborates with client legal teams to design custom agents, tools, and workflows, translating enterprise-specific needs into standardized platform capabilities.

Who You Are

  • Experience in complex commercial litigation, mass torts, or regulatory investigations.
  • Background in legal innovation or practice technology at a law firm.
  • Hands-on experience with litigation workflows, legal strategy development, or fact development.
  • Familiarity with scripting or APIs (e.g., Python, JavaScript) or hands-on experimentation with agent frameworks and tool protocols.

Even Better If You Have…

  • Litigation Workflow Engineering: Mastery of cause-of-action mapping, factual chronologies, and evidence analysis within litigation practice.
  • AI System Architecture & Diagnostics: Fluent understanding of retrieval systems, agentic tools, prompt patterns, and model operations.
  • Executive Communication & Influence: Ability to manage and influence cross-functional partners and skeptical law firm stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Product-Led Field Execution: Ability to operate effectively in early-stage, ambiguous environments with minimal structured playbooks.
