We are seeking an ambitious, strategic, and high-caliber Head of Business Development to lead our global growth initiatives and expand our market reach. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will take full ownership of driving strategic partnerships across global markets (including North America, Europe, East Asia, and APAC) while managing and mentoring our dedicated BD team. This high-impact role requires strong financial acumen, commercial negotiation skills, and a proven ability to lead with an inclusive, high-trust management style.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & Expansion: Formulate and execute long-term commercial business plans to expand revenue streams and market presence across global regions.
- Commercial Deal Structuring: Lead high-value contract negotiations, applying financial modeling, P&L management, and basic commercial legal knowledge to structure robust partnerships.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, empower, and advocate for direct reports, fostering a collaborative, zero-blame environment that emphasizes autonomy and professional development.
- Cross-Functional Bridge: Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, and Legal teams to align market opportunities with internal operational and technical capabilities.
- Market & Industry Representation: Leverage global industry events (e.g., ITB) and executive networking to identify emerging market trends and capture strategic business opportunities.
- Global Partner Management: Build and maintain polished, long-term relationships with senior decision-makers across diverse international regions.
- Vertical Expansion: Research, evaluate, propose and execute on potential new business lines
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of overall business development, strategic growth, or enterprise sales experience, including 3+ years in a leadership/people-management role.
- Financial & Legal Acumen: Demonstrated capability in P&L oversight, budgeting, revenue forecasting, deal modeling, and commercial contract review.
- Communication & Polish: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with the gravitas to engage high-level external stakeholders with simplicity and clarity.
- Global Mobility: Willingness and availability to travel internationally approximately 50–60 nights per year (~1 week per month).
- Leadership Approach: Balanced leadership style—firm and decisive on execution, while trusting, inclusive, and supportive of team autonomy.
- Industry Experience: Domain-specific industry experience is preferred to accelerate ramp-up time, though not mandatory for candidates with strong commercial execution skills.
