The Opportunity

We're looking for freelance Football Replay Operators to support the delivery of our technology at live football events around the world.

This is a flexible, event-based opportunity, ideal for people with a strong understanding of football who are confident working with technology and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

As part of our freelance operator network, you'll have the opportunity to work at elite football events, with assignments offered based on event requirements, location and availability.

What You’ll Do

Operate Bolt6’s football replay technology at live events around the world, helping match officials review key incidents quickly and accurately. You’ll work in a high-pressure environment where focus, clear communication and calm decision-making matter. This will include:

• Live replay operation: Respond to requests from match officials and provide the correct replay angles promptly and accurately.
• Match preparation: Set up and check replay equipment and software before matches, and confirm the system is ready for live operation.
• Team coordination: Communicate clearly with match officials, broadcast teams and colleagues throughout the event.
• Technical support: Monitor the system during matches, resolve straightforward technical issues and escalate problems quickly when needed.
• Testing and training: Take part in Bolt6’s extensive testing and training programme, building the knowledge and consistency needed to operate confidently at live events.
• Continuous improvement: Share observations and feedback after tests and events to help improve our systems and operating procedures.
• Bolt6 ambassador: Represent Bolt6 professionally while operating our technology at live events and interacting with the client. Be a calm, helpful and reliable presence, ensuring the client has a positive experience and confidence in our team and technology - helping build strong relationships and support future business.

What You’ll Bring

• Deep knowledge of football rules, gameplay and match context.
• Experience as a replay operator, particularly in football, or in another live sports broadcast or video-review role.
• Fluent spoken and written English, with the confidence to communicate clearly in a live-event environment.
• A calm, focused and effective approach under pressure, with strong attention to detail.
• Some technical knowledge and confidence learning to operate software, video and event equipment.
• The ability to follow procedures, act quickly and work collaboratively with officials and event teams.
• A self-starter attitude, curiosity and commitment to learning through an extensive testing and training programme.
• Flexibility to travel regularly and work event schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with broadcast workflows, multi-camera video systems or match-official review processes.
• Fluency in additional languages; this is a significant advantage when working with international teams.
• A technical qualification or experience supporting live-event technology.

Location

This is a freelance, event-based role involving on-site work at football matches, with opportunities for both domestic and international travel.

Assignments will be offered according to operational requirements, location and individual availability. The frequency and duration of assignments may vary throughout the year, and there is no guarantee of a minimum number of events.

Some remote preparation, testing and training will be required before undertaking live-event assignments.
