About Motum

Our roles are fully remote and full-time, designed for people who want real ownership, meaningful work, and the opportunity to grow inside US-based dynamic teams.

When you join Motum, you work full-time with one company, integrate directly into their team, and build a career with long-term impact. Ready to join us?

About the Company

Our client is an AI-powered maternal health company that is revolutionizing care by connecting patients with an integrated network of providers, including OB-GYNs, lactation consultants, and doulas.

Their advanced AI tools, telehealth platform, and provider collaboration streamline care delivery, ensuring mothers receive high-quality, personalized care while connecting them to resources and actively addressing healthcare disparities.

Their dedicated team of trained doulas offers personalized guidance, emotional reassurance, and practical assistance, fostering a nurturing environment for both mother and baby. By empowering women with knowledge and advocacy, the company aims to enhance the birthing experience and promote positive outcomes for every family they serve.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Mobile who will build and ship a cross-platform app from the ground up, then work across the stack, interface, APIs, services, data, to keep pushing it forward. You won't be handed a spec and a lane; you'll be handed a mission and the room to figure out how to hit it, moving between mobile and backend as the problem demands.

This role is for someone with a startup mentality — someone who will do whatever it takes to exceed the roadmap, not just meet it. It's a high-pace, high-ownership environment. The right person doesn't just contribute to the mission — they become exponentially part of it, treating the company's goals as their own and pushing well past what's asked.

We own our tasks and features end to end, love innovation, and encourage people to build new and exciting tools. Our processes and our code affect thousands of people instantaneously — what you ship this week is in a mother's hands, and it matters, this week.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the company's mobile app (iOS and Android), from UI to release
• Work full-stack in their Angular / NestJS / Postgres stack, plus the mobile layer on top
• Craft smooth, accessible, trustworthy UX for a sensitive, emotional use case
• Build real-time chat and conversational (and potentially voice) experiences
• Ship fast, iterate on real user feedback, and help set mobile engineering standards
• Build responsibly with sensitive health data (HIPAA-aware)

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Angular, NestJS, and Postgres (or the proven ability to ramp into them quickly). Whatever your specialty, you'll do regular full-stack work in this stack, not only your focus area
• Strong mobile experience — React Native (or native iOS/Android) — with apps shipped in production
• Comfortable owning both the mobile app and the backend and APIs behind it (REST/GraphQL)
• An eye for polished, human-centered UX
• A bias to ship and comfort iterating quickly on a small team
• Bonus: experience bridging web and mobile (e.g., Ionic/Capacitor, which pair well with Angular), real-time chat/voice, app-store release ownership, consumer-health or healthcare experience

How You Operate

• You have a startup mentality — you'll do whatever it takes to exceed the roadmap, not just hit it
• You thrive in high-pace, high-ambiguity environments and don't need structure handed to you — you build it as you go
• You're exponentially bought into the mission — the company's goals are your goals, not a checklist
• You have a bias to ship — you'd rather learn from a real user than polish in a vacuum
• You move fluidly across the stack, from a UI polish pass to a backend fix to a release, without waiting to be told which one matters more
• You care about the humans on the other end of the screen and bring that care into every design and engineering decision

Additional Information:

• Work Hours: Remote, with availability for PST collaboration
• Contract Type: Independent Contractor

We Offer:

• Competitive Compensation in USD
• Paid Time Off
• 100% remote
• Own the operating backbone of a brand-defining, fast-scaling company
• A long-term seat that grows in scope as you prove out and the company scales
